Principal's Corner

Dear W.E. Waters Cavalier Family,

Welcome to the historic 2017-2018 school year!  I am Mr. Randall, the new principal of W.E. Waters Middle School.  I consider it a humble honor to serve being a former student and a second-generation Waters’ principal of my family at this great school. Also joining us this year in the administrative team are Ms. Incorminias, our 8th grade assistant principal and Mr. Lindell Wallace, our veteran administrative and leadership specialist.  Returning this year is Mr. De’Braux, our 7th grade assistant principal.

At Waters, Our vision is to establish and maintain an environment that promotes effective teaching and learning for all students to excel.  Our mission is for all stakeholders to be involved participants to ensure progress, achievement and success occur daily and for future endeavors.

It is imperative we all work together to support our students to be successful academically and socially.  Parents and guardians, please make sure students come to school every day prepared to learn and to be engaged participants of the learning process.  Our goals are to ensure that effective teaching and learning will be student-centered and to constantly revise our strategies and activities so our students may demonstrate higher results of achievements.  Please stay abreast of your child’s grades and communicate with the teachers and assigned counselors throughout the school year.  Parent conferences and related meetings are also highly recommended.

As we conduct activities and programs, please get involved. For example, join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and attend our monthly Principal’s Coffee Sessions. Your participation and input are very valuable and will beneficial as you learn more information about the school.  Also, we encourage parents and guardians to assist spreading the word to community stakeholders and organizations to serve as volunteers at our school.

At Waters, we have high expectations of our students to demonstrate their best productivity as learners and to conduct their behaviors appropriately.   As we are a school of learning, it my expectation that all adult interactions, visits, meetings, conferences and related activities are conducted in a professional manner.

In closing, our school division has adopted the following motto.  It is Passion, Purpose and Promise=Portsmouth.  I know we will support this motto by our new school motto-At W.A.T.E.R.S., We Are Truly Elevating Rising Success. As we all collaborate to focus on success, our students will succeed and make this an outstanding school year at W.E. Waters Middle School.
